My Old 1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z


Here's my old daily driver and highway racer. Intercooled Turbo and 14psi of daily driving fun!

Here's the view that most people saw! :)

I discovered that the original 2.2 TII engine (forged crank) had been replaced with a 2.2 TI engine (cast crank) so I decided to use the nice black crinkle-painted 2 piece intake manifold and matching valve cover for my Omni project (see them on the Omni). Replaced them with a 1 piece manifold and scruffy looking valve cover.

Here's a pic of the cozy cockpit. A pretty comfy ride... the big doors made it a tad tough to get in and out of in tight parking spaces.


June 29, 2001: The Daytona was sold to a fellow Turbo Dodge enthusiast. Hope it serves him well! Farewell old friend!
